       ***one month later

 Tobenna was devastated…. he paced up and down while his friends consoled him.

  “this girl has killed me…………this girl has killed me…….  He kept shouting.

“guy calm down we go find that babe…. we will definitely find her” Amaobi assured but Jimmy who had been laughing secretly at Tobenna and pretending to calm him down spoke up

“ehen wetin you say be her name again sef…. Adanna shey…chai that babe bad oo” he laughed a little while holding his mouth as Tobenna bad eyed him

  “oga wetin dey worry you (wats wrong with you) are you not supposed to be calming him down and joining head so we will figure out how to track that bitch Adanna down” Jude spoke up cautioning Jimmy

   “guy I’m sorry” Jimmy apologized to Tobenna while still trying so hard to control his laughter.

Truly, this wasn’t funny to Tobenna

  Few days after he broke up with Carol, he met Adanna at the eatery he enjoyed going to…. this same eatery he had taken all the other girls to including Carol…. Adanna so beautiful and charming… he couldn’t take his eyes off her. She eyed him and then he grabbed the opportunity. “one more to go” he reminded himself as he walked towards her.

They started dating few days after that. Tobenna marveled at how good he was with women. He liked Adanna so much and will continue this even after getting married he said to his friends on the night he told them about Adanna. They laughed and hailed him “odogwu na the game”.

 Today, one month after that, came back home and met his house empty. All his furniture where gone. His apartment was empty. Even his car…his only car was gone too…just under two days he traveled lying to Adanna he was going to see his sick mum while he actually went to see Chidimma who just got back from the abroad. Chidimma was a working class rich young lady…she had told Tobenna she wanted to do her wedding shopping abroad and would pay the bills herself.

“gosh girl I love you…. I mean what will I ever do without you” Carol said thanking her friend for the hundredth time…

“I’ve told you to stop thanking me. What are best friends… you know I gat your back any day, anytime. Meanwhile, this is just the beginning for Tobenna” Adanna replied

This night, they where all together…all the previous girls Tobenna had their names on the list. Including his fiancée Chidimma.

As part of the plan, Adanna had agreed to date and wreck Tobenna after she reached out to all the girls he had dated…. Juliet, lily, onyinye and Betty. Including Chidimma Tobenna’s fiancé. Carol had convinced them of the monster Tobenna was and by Adanna going ahead to date him, she had confirmed the truth to all of them.

 Chidimma was the most devastated among all of them. She couldn’t believe she was about to marry a man this evil. He could toil with the hearts of women over a stupid bet. And she had agreed to play along.

They all cheered to the downfall of Tobenna as they raised their glasses up in the air. Three days’ time would be Tobenna’s wedding…one more plan to carry out.

Everyone was happy…Tobenna’s mom galivanted around…mother of the day she was.

Tobenna still recovering from the turmoil Adanna put him in…but happy he would finally marry the woman of his dreams…Chidimma was rich anyway so even if he had lost the bet, he had no problem paying off all the debts he owed in planning things for the wedding and replacing his furniture. She might even get him a new car after he told her the previous one was stolen by armed robbers. He thought to himself and smiled as he stood at the alter waiting for his beautiful bride.

As the song played and everyone stood up to welcome the bride while she stepped in, there was an uproar of murmuring and confusion. Seven brides all in wedding gowns and veils. What was happening……Tobenna was shocked…or are they the bride’s maid…but they are all wearing wedding gowns. How possible. His friends where puzzled. And then, the seven women all lifted their veil…

    “what is the meaning of this? The priest asked “please sir may you go and bring your bride now” he added but shocked Tobenna still stood there short of words.

   Chidimma removed her engagement ring and threw at him…” this wedding is over Tobenna…it’s all over” she said and the DJ turned on the music and they all danced outside…flinging their veil and flower

 Some people laughed enjoying the show while some left and some where eager to know what happened.

Tobenna’s mum fainted…. his dad was disappointed in him…his siblings couldn’t hide the shame on their faces while they took their mom to the hospital.

His friends turned around and where laughing at him. Tobenna sat on the floor. The woman he loved. The debts he owed. His friends and other people will come after him. Even his boss whom he also borrowed money from was at the wedding. He knew what will come after that.

His life was in deep ruins.
