It's beginning to look like Christmas
It's beginning to look like Christmas...
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The cold wind is here. And we likely don't have put on the AC to feel the glaring cold on our skin.
The fogs covering the morning. The dust feeling the air like angry waves rising from the ocean. The Stars filling the night sky like never before.
Vehicles and store fronts blaring the sounds of Christmas melodies
Little children jumping in excitement at the sight of their new clothes and shoes.
The glistering lights surrounding Christmas trees placed with love at different corners of different homes.
Somewhere along the road also sits a hungry child eyes filled with hope and teethes brightened with laughter.
A little further is a family just believing to survive the day's meal with even the little bread crumb thrown at them.
This the season when love fills the air and giving is at it's peak. A time when we can be an answered prayer and a thin line of hope to the hungry child and the less privileged family.
A time when our joy should supercede our worries and our hearts nourished with endless rhythm of Thanksgiving.
A time when Love and gratitude should cloud our deepest roots.
Yes, our purpose of existence is here. Christ the Reason for the season is about to Grace our hearts with the illuminating light that comes with His glorious Presence.
Our hope, Our Joy, Our Prince of Peace is Here on the doors of our hearts. Seeking a Place to give us fulfillment and help us find solace. Give Him room.
Why it should be called CHRISTMAS not Xmas.
Although the real date of Our Lord's birth not known, the early Christians choose this date 25th of December to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. The time when God sent His son to the world to restore all mankind to Himself.
Christmas is the term given to the day Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Derived from two words Christ and Mass. From the Greek word Christos (Christ) and the latin word Missa (Mass)
Xmas on the other hand is used as an abbreviation of the word Christmas. with X meaning chi' in the language of the Greeks as the first letter of the Greek word for Christ. it came in use since the 1100s and was written as Xpes measse and evolved as Xmas in the 18th Century. While this word may be seen by many as the same with Christmas, it shouldn't be used in the representation of Christmas as it takes out the name of Christ who is the true reason for the season.
For unto us a child is born
unto us a Son is given
And the government will be upon His
Shoulder
And His name will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father
Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9vs.6
Isaiah prophesied and the gospel of Luke gave full account on the details of the coming of Jesus Christ our Savior. The magnitude of His coming and the purpose of His living among us is beyond enough reason to see, pronounce and use Christmas for what it is.
Christ's coming is hope for the hopeless. Comfort to the afflicted, Joy to sadness, freedom to the oppressed and imprisoned.
Salvation to Mankind.
It's deeper than even our minds can comprehend. Therefore, Great Reverence should be accorded to it.
